Goodbye 2014 - Welcome 2015

So... Hello Everyone :)

This year 2014... that it's already gone, by the way. It's been one of the most interesting ones that I can remember, at least for me and the non-meaningful kind of life that I was living.

First and foremost I didn't make any New Years Resolutions for 2014, which was good at the time but as the days and months rolled by, I realized that I didn't have a good plan of what I wanted to happen or accomplish during the year.

I mean... I knew I wanted to finish university, which I didn't yet. I also knew I wanted to start writing again which I did for a month and then stopped. I knew I wanted to save money and I did, a lot more than I thought I would. I wanted to have a better looking body, instead I gain weight. I wanted to stop drinking to much soda, instead I drunk the same amount or even more, not so sure which one, but not less.

To make this a little bit short I have to say that I didn't do so well in 2014, and for that reason I will make some GOALS for the year 2015.

But before we start with the goals making and all that I have a few Q&A to say goodbye to 2014.

1) What did you do this year that you have never done before?
Work my ass of at the office for 9 months straight and loving it.

2) What was the smartest decision that you made last year?
I think the smartest decision I made was to break up with my ex. The relationship was not healthy for me and I let it ate me and destroy me a lot more than I should, so I end it. Not in the best of ways but it had to be done and I can't say I regret doing it :)

3) What one word best sums up and describes your experience last year?
One word? Really? Damn... Challenging

4) What are you most happy about completing?
The full circle that was my relationship with my ex and the fact that I open my eyes, noticing that I was worth more than what she made me feel. That if she couldn't spare me a moment of suffering, she didn't deserve me and the pain and stress I was under, it was only for her and not for me.

5) What was the biggest risk you took?
Omg! This is a tricky one but I think I know what was the biggest risk... Buy a sex toy and keeping it. Let me explain a little... I live with a very curious mother that can't stop snooping around my closet so if she ever find that sex toy I'd better be dead LOL

6) What are you most grateful for this past year?
I have a lot of things to be grateful for even thou most of the time I don't acknowledge them, but the one that I am grateful the most this year it's the fact that I don't feel a weight over my shoulders to please everyone around me. Now I know I can be me and even thou I do care about what other people think of me, I know I can't do nothing about it, they will think whay they want to think and I have to be me regardless of that.

7) What was your biggest achievement of the year?
My biggest achievement was letting go of the heavy load that I carry when it came to how people affected my live with the way they talk or think about me. And the fact that I feel more comfortable in my own skin at 28, it's a huge achievement.

8) What do you wish you had done more of?
I don't have regrets in my live. I can't live with regrets. I have lessons learned and things I will not do again but no regrets. So, that being said, I wish I had done more for myself than I did. What I mean it's going to the gym, walk, go to the salon to get my nails done at least once a month or two, pamper myself and love myself more.

9) What do you wish you had done less of?
Drinking soda, hands down, drinking soda it's the thing I wish I did less for 2 main reasons: health wise and money wise LOL. Also, one other thing... I wish I have not procrastinated so much this year when it came to my studies.

10) Knowing what you know now, if you could write a letter to yourself that would travel back in time so that you would receive exactly one year ago, what advice would you give yourself?
Don't trust 100% in people, because they will disappoint you, so it's better not put your hopes up like that, just be careful and you will be fine. Don't wait for others to like you, they don't know you and everyone will pull in their own direction, specially at work. It's not you, it's them. You don't have to please each and everyone and you deffenitively can't solve other people's problems. Don't get involved in their problems because they will find a way out with or without you and they can blame you if things don't go their way. Love yourself, give yourself a time each day to enjoy just being you and liking the things you do like to enjoy. You are gorgeous, you can be even more gorgeous, it's all up to you. No matter what others say, you can always improve in any aspect of your life if you really want to and work for it. Don't do it for others, do it for yourself.

NaNoWriMo 2014

For those who don't know. November was National Novel Writing Month. A global event that takes place during the month of November every year in which writers strive to write 50,000 words in only 30 days.

I did participate this year even when I had my Statistic final the 27th of November. Crazy, right?

Well... Lets just say I did not reach the 50,000 word count for the month.

Even with this chart I feel like I won. I have accomplish something that I did not accomplished before in my life. I wrote stories and took them out of my head.

I did not feel like the month was a waste of time at all. I have learned so much about the writer's worlds and my own worlds as a persona trying to write stories.

I feel like now I just need to sit back and outline better the two stories that I put on paper and didn't follow during the month. And also I will keep writing the Fanfiction that took over my world and it's sucking the life out of me but I am enjoying writing it so much that I will not stop.

What NaNoWriMo has left me this year?

  • A stand alone storie outlined and with a few lines written already.
  • A probably longer story that I outlined basically and have a few ideas down already to start writing it.
  • A fanfiction outlined until the middle of it and writen chapters for almost half of that outline already.
  • Knowledge that I can't go and try to write a novel without sitting and thinking very hard about what I want to write and how to aproach it.
  • For me, outlining a little bit from beginning to end before starting to write the story helps A LOT.
  • I write more in English that I do in Spanish. I don't know why this is but I can be more inspired if I write in English, maybe because I think the stories and the characters voices speak to me in English.

I will be trying this again in 2015?

The answer to that it's simple: HELL YEAH!

Mis Whatsapp con Mamá - Book Review

I come today with a little different kind of blog post and I hope you... My silent readers... If you are out there of course... You should be out there, right? *start to panick*

Ok... Ok... Enough with that over reaction on my part, of course you are out there! I am not insane!

Today I bring to you a Book Review because I read this book and I love it so much and I think all of you should read it too so you can laugh and love it too :)

Tittle: Mis whatsapp con mamá

Original Tittle: Avec Maman

Author: Alban Orsini

Editorial: Grijalbo

Pages: 384

Price (Spanish Version): 17,29 US$

Price (French Version): 18,71 US$

This book it's in Spanish but I think there is an English version *looks for it* Nop, not yet, sorry English people... but there is a French version on Amazon, and also a Catalán version if I am not crazy *looks all around her and then gets closer to the readers* I will tell you a little secret... but shhhhhh don't tell anybody else... If you look for it on Google you can find it in .epub format in Spanish.

Synopsis
"CijkiopplypM'po" is the first whatsapp a mother sends her son with her new smartphone. Just started on new technologies and excited about the ease of breaking into the daily live of her offspring, learn to handle the new phone at the expense of the patient boy.

My whatsapp with Mom is a hilarious story of a mother and child through the messages exchanged with mobile phone. A modern, emotional, and above all, very funny novel, which tells of the bond between parents and children and generation gaps.

My Opinion / Review
How on earth did I found this book? Well... I don't even remember and it was this past few days, Monday at the least. We were talking about my mother getting a new phone and wich one she should be getting and all that *smiles* Between us, she still confuses Whatsapp with Facebook sometime, but that is not here nor there.

The point is I don't remember but as soon as I saw that tittle and the picture I set myself to get it, one way or the other... And today I did! *nods* Yes, I got it today and read it in an hour, tops. It has 384 pages but it's a light and easy reading because each page is a picture of a phone with the conversation like you where reading from Whatsapp itself.

I could not stop laughing the entire book... Not the end of course but the conversations are so true and I could not, also, compare with what it will be when my mom get her phone with whatsapp soon. If with a cheap regular phone she is anoying, can you imagine what it will be?

Anyway... This is a very light reading, fast, realistic, simple, easy to read and with a great message at the end. No plot to unravel, no complicated characters, nothing. If you are looking for a good time, fun and moments that will trigger memories of situations with you mom, giggles between pages and series of nodding because you agree or have been in a similar situation, this is the book for you.

Did you know I do tarot readings?

Yes, sometimes I do Tarot Readings *smiles* I don't talk too much about it or make videos about this because I don't consider myself such a good tarot reader to do this for other people, and also because I have a highly respect about Divination.

To be even more honest with you, I don't do a reading except it's absolutely necesary for me to have the imput of my babies *smile bigger* Yes, I do talk to my cards when I'm shuffling them for the reading.

Yesterday I had a very paranoic feeling and at the same time, the more I thought about it, the more I believed I was right with my ideas. So today at 1:03 am, I took my babies out of their box and started shuffling and talking to them *keep smiling* Yeah, I may be a little crazy but it works for me so...

My reading was very interesting, at least for myself and I will explain why in this post for those who are interested. I made the decision of a quick 3 card reading, like a Yes or No kind of answer. The upright cards where Yes and the reversed cards where No, but as usual my babies have more to me than just a simple answer. The question I kept asking my cards was: ¿There is someone blocking me of finishing university?

FIRST CARD

My first card was The Moon, reversed, which will mean No according to my idea, but also have a very interesting thing to say about my question. The first thing I thought when I saw her was: Things are not always what they look like.

The Moon Reversed: Casting off veils and seeing what is behind scenes. Making sure that things get broken: lies, spells, illusions, glamorours and things. Someone could be reveild for whatever they are doing. You need to actually accept the truth when it's given to you. You might have to call somebody out on their on lie. Play close attention of what is going on behind scenes, but also pay attention to closing down veils, make sure you can see farther and more accurately by getting past the boundaries you or somebody else may have put up to obstruct you.

SECOND CARD

Seven of Cups: Lack of sense of direction, too many opportunities to choose from and not feeling safe or comfortable with any of them. The big threat here is that you can only choose one so choose wisely. Too many things going on with your life right know and you don't know what to give priority to. If you don't feel like you are not ready to make a decision right now, don't. You are not pressure to deal with this right now, but you can't let it stew forever. Diligently look at everything, reorganize and re-prioritize. Yes, do not rush to make a commitment you don't fully trust of feel secure in but at the same time do not entertain new ideas over and over again. You are piling more and more stuff in your plate and it's making you look like a flake. Warning: You try to do more at this time and you will be misplassing your priorities.

THIRD CARD
Death: Natural ending cycle. A situation will be coming to an end. All that it's needed, it's to be able to move forward confidently when it happens. Severing ties. You need to be able to embrace more change and transition as the times goes on. This may not be at the right time according to your personal schedule, but this is kind of irrelevant sometimes when it comes to the universe. So make room and get ready, because as soon it's over, good stuff it's going to happen. Make sure you embrace change as it happens in your life, stay in step with that change. Breaking down, deciding to lament it's only going to make the pain last longer. And the pain it's not as bad as you think, it's only your own shock.

ADVICE CARD

Five of Pentacles Reversed: Quite a positive card in every capacity except emotions. Help, assistance, courage and recovery, but there is a possibility for dependency. Could indicate a situation that it's improving rather swiftly. Help that you have asked it's being given. A codependent relationship could be forming or involved with you, be sure this is only temporary. Give second chance, but know when to stop giving second chances as well. It's your job to help others but make sure they also have the material and capacity to help themselves once they realize how to solve this problems.

I took my own result about this reading and I am pretty sure you did too *nods* Good... Because they, as usual, nail it with their meanings and insides. This always surprise me but at the same time I get this strong surge of power that I adore; and makes every reading special.

The cards meaning I got them from Niko at:

Disclaimer: The pictures are from the Steampunk Tarot Deck that I look on Google Images.

Notes/Wallet Combo - Review

This is the little (chubby) fauxdori that I'm using as my notebook and wallet combo for *thinks for a few seconds* almost a week now...

I made a great setup of this and it's working like a charm. I do love that the plastic pocket that I slide in there can holds not only money but also tickets and stuff, which it's really handy.

What can I say about this setup? Well...

I have really enjoy how easy it is to take it out of my bag to pay for things and also how light weight it is, because if I carrie all my other planner stuff or even a bigger wallet, it would be heavy and my shoulder would get hurt because of it.

Also allows me to take it everywhere I go, no matter where it is, because I can just throw it in my bag with my phone and mp3 player and go. Sit in a park, take it out and write or even on the bus, which is not easy, let me tell you that, but I could do it if I wanted or need it too.

I know I have my money in that little thing, but it's in the back pocket and it doesn't even show, so there's no problem at all to take it out, people think it's just a notebook or journal, nothing worth taking from you :D
